Job-related surprise
May. 8th, 2003 07:23 pmWell, just as I'm busily (and somewhat gloomily) poking around online job-search sites for potential prospects today, I get a call from my former bosses in New York. Not only do they have more files for me to work on here, they're also quite desperate for a hand in the office for a week or so. Two of the math editors will be out of the office, and they'll be quite short-handed and on a tight schedule to get the new math program out.
So they've asked me to come up to New York for a week to help out, probably from the 14th to the 21st. Quite surprising indeed! I'm certainly glad of the reprieve from the job search, and I won't mind a visit to the city again. They'll be putting me up in the company apartment only a few minutes' walk from the office, so that'll be nice. Tomorrow I'll give the travel agent they use a call and arrange for the flights. Looks like May's going to be a busy month!
