Well, it's been awhile since my last post, so let's see... Last weekend Doug and I went out to Bond Park and rented a canoe. We paddled around the lake and had a jolly good time. Saw some goofy teenage boys capsize their canoe and swim around, trying to figure out how to get back into it while still out on the water (it's not easy). Quite a few people went to help them, but there's not much you can do about that -- they just had to push it to shore. They seemed to be having a good time, anyway. It was definitely amusing to watch. ;)

Spent the week working on my resume and looking around online for potential positions. I've applied to a couple, but I'm sure it's going to be awhile before I get any bites. If need be, I think I'd be content to apply at a Barnes & Noble or something and work over the summer there while I'm job-hunting. I think I'll be all right staying home for now, though, if I ever get /paid/ for my freelance work, *grumblemutterhrmph*.

Today's been quiet, but pleasant. When Doug and I were heading out to lunch, we were stopped by a light right at the entrance to our apartment complex, and I saw a little turtle crossing the road. He was heading right in front of the car, so I hopped out and picked him up and put him in the grass on the other side of the road. I was still worried about him, but then a guy drove up next to us and asked if it was a turtle I'd just moved. I said yes, and he said that his "fiancee's mama" raised turtles. He went and picked the little guy up and took him in his car. I'm hoping she's not raising them for soup or something. ;) At least this way I think he's got a fighting chance -- I have a feeling he would've wound up right back in the road eventually if that hadn't happened. So anyway, after lunch we cleaned house for awhile, then went to a mall in Durham to see a movie. We were planning on seeing Finding Nemo again, but it was sold out, so we saw A Mighty Wind instead. We'd been meaning to when it first came to the area, but just hadn't gotten around to it. I'm quite glad things turned out as they did, because the movie was great. Definitely a hoot, just like all of the other Christopher Guest & co. movies I've seen (Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, etc. etc.). A pleasant day all 'round. Now we're back home and relaxing. Hopefully the weather will be nicer tomorrow (it's been raining all day today), so we can go out to a park again.
