I think living in an apartment someplace like this is the ideal way to experience snow -- you don't have to walk everywhere on icy/slushy sidewalks, you don't have to wait half an hour in it on an exposed subway platform (the N and W are aboveground in Queens), and you don't have to SHOVEL it! I wiped the snow off the car with my arm in a matter of a few minutes.
Not to mention that the scenery's pretty nice even without it. The snow can be the enhancement to the landscape that it rightfully ought to be, rather than a mask that just makes it bearable. And I don't think there's anything lovelier than snow in the woods. I walked down to the little pine wood near the complex and let my fingers freeze a bit while I just took in the view. What a beautiful day.
